Platform Update: New Drawing Tools
The right-dock drawing toolbar picks up Fibonacci retracements, parallel channels, and a smoother freehand annotation mode.
This release focuses on the drawing toolbar attached to the chart card. If you mark up charts before you trade them, most of what you asked for is in this update.
What’s new
- Fibonacci retracements, with the standard 0.236 / 0.382 / 0.5 / 0.618 / 0.786 levels drawn automatically between two anchor points, and levels you can toggle individually.
- Parallel channels — draw one trendline, drag once to set the channel width, and both rails move together on future edits.
- Freehand annotation mode got a smoothing pass. Freehand strokes are simplified after you release the pointer, so quick annotations don’t leave jagged, pixel-level paths behind.
- Persistent tool state — the toolbar remembers the last tool, color, and line weight you used across chart reloads, scoped to your workspace.
Where to find it
The drawing toolbar lives in the right dock alongside the Code drawer. Hover the icon rail to reveal the tool group; it stays collapsed until you need it so it never competes with the chart for space.
Why this took a few releases
Drawing objects need to survive things a plain overlay doesn’t: symbol switches, timeframe changes, and workspace reloads, all without drifting off their anchored price/time coordinates. Getting anchor persistence right for existing tools was the prerequisite for adding more of them — Fibonacci levels and channels both depend on the same anchor math trendlines already used, which is why they landed together in this release rather than earlier.
Feedback
If there’s a drawing tool you’re missing, the fastest way to tell us is through the in-app feedback link — release notes for the next drawing-tool batch will draw directly from what people ask for after this one ships.
